Seven ICC students and their program coordinator spent five weeks studying in China with the College's sister institution, Xiamen Huaxia Vocational College.

Wartburg College awarded diplomas to 298 students during Spring Commencement May 24.

Illinois Central College, East Peoria, awarded diplomas and/or certificates to nearly 900 students for the Spring 2015 semester. Approximately 300 graduates participated in the commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 16, 2015, at the ICC CougarPlex.

Between May 18 and 22, students on the Cyclone Space Mining team took their robot to the Kennedy Space Center in Florida to compete at the NASA Robotic Mining Competition. The team was able to bring home three awards for their outreach and engagement efforts.

After months exploring topics like sports analytics, Parkinson's Disease, prairie grasses and consumer behavior, 175 Central students presented their results during Central's Undergraduate Research Symposium May 5-6.

McKendree University students will present, perform and exhibit their scholarly and creative work at the Academic Excellence Celebration on April 23 at the Lebanon, Illinois, campus.

The highest achieving students admitted to Augustana College this year were invited to Board of Trustees Fellows Day on Saturday, Feb. 7.

"The Economics and Science of Rural Development in Guatemala" took students to Guatemala to study rural development practices. Students considered how the sustainability of economic progress depends on its impact on natural systems and on the effectiveness of social institutions that mediate conflicts between the desire for immediate economic gains and the need to protect the natural systems on which long-term economic progress depends.

"Biology and Geography of Nicaragua" focused on how physical geographic factors and human intervention have affected the flora and fauna of the world's largest freshwater tropical island.

Nearly 600 high school seniors competed in Augustana College's annual Scholarship Competition on January 17, 2015. Students competed for $4,000 scholarships awarded by each academic department at Augustana. Winners of the scholarships will be notified by March 1, 2015.
